What BIOS version is the board using? It will need at least P2.30 to work with
the 9900KF.

Also try other display cables/outputs, often times "no POST" issues turn out to be
display cable issues not getting signal to the display.

I think it is the BIOS version. Looks like I am at 1.60. Gonna be fun trying to figure out how to update the bios without a working CPU.

What are you running in the Z370 or is this an upgrade board for the same system?

If you have to pick up a CPU to flash it your best bet would probably be the Celeron
G4900, it is supported on all BIOS versions for that board.

Still lit up with color I set. I've uninstalled asrocks polychrome rgb from computer and it still lights up. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Dear Nebula,

Thanks for posting.

Regarding your question about the LED, please adjust the following setting in the BIOS to allow the RGB to be turned off after shut down.

Advanced\chipset Configuration\Turn On Onboard LED in S5\disabled
Make sure to press the F10 button to save the changes.

Also, please go into Win10 then disable the Turn on fast startup setting.
The setting can be found under:
Control Panel/All Control Panel Items/Power Options/System Settings

With thanks,
ASRock TSD

Hi

I have problem with my motherboard. I make update bios to 3.1 and got errod d6. PC doesnt work.

my procesor is i5 2500k LGA1155 Sandy Bridge
graphic card radeon 6950

I borrowed a nvidia graphics card from a friend to start my computer. after 10 startup, it turned on and the information "UEFI dafaults have been loaded.Pres f2 or del to run setup
Pres f1 to continue

I read a lot of forums and someone write that i need downgrade bios to ver. 2.0 or maybe 2.0c
I go to the asrock support and they send this bios 2.0c to me but when i try to flash it "no image file detected" :/ (i format usb to fat32 and put in to usb 2.0 port)

Please help ... on my radeon 6950 card, the computer does not start, on my friend's nvidi only after 10 reboots when the settings UEFI are reset ... someone wrote about intel management engine? Pc problems have started to work after updating the bios and windows

I see from the specs that it only supports HDMI 1.4? Is that correct?
I have seen elsewhere the specs listed as HDMI 2.0.

I want to drive 2 4k monitors at 60hz, one from the HDMI and one from the DP

Thanks for your reply!

Hi all,
I am after some ideas please.
My motherboard is a Z390 steel legend, processor i9-9900k, 64GB Corsair Vengeance RAM, Gigabyte RTX2060 graphics.
Not sure if any other info will help apart from OS which is Win10Pro x64.
Every so often, just after booting into Windows or when doing perhaps a large WinZip operation, there is a long beeping emitted from the case, solid beep, same kind of noise that the BIOS would make in the event of a BIOS boot issue but instead of short bursts this one goes on for seconds and then stops.
The machine then carries on as normal!
Does anyone have any experience of such a phenomenon or can point me in he right direction for ideas please?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Having issues with Ram on my new build. BOUGHT RAM OFF OF QVL LISTING and having issues posting and running when it is set up for the xmp profile. Will boot no problem with 32 gb of ram, but when I install full 64gb motherboard throws a code 55. Tried with a set of XPG Memory 32gb 4x 8gb sticks @ 3600 mhz and boots flawless. Has the latest bios installed, V1.20. No change at all. Please help.

I bought a ASRock Z490 Phantom Gaming 4/2.5G board for my i-5 10600k cpu to build my new system. In my haste I forgot to check the memory for compatibility with the mb, and of course the ram I got didn't post ( getting red light for memory on the post status checker) and isn't on ASRock's compatible list on their site.So now that I've been checking the list I'm having a really tough time finding anything that IS on the list.
Is there and easier way to track down compatible memory than flipping back and forth from newegg and amazon and asrock's site checking the ridiculously long module numbers against the list?

I think I've read you can put a faster ram like a 3000 or 3200 and it would run fine at the 2666 the the cpu does. Is that true? If so it would at least increase my odds of finding something.

Any advice to point me in the right direction would be appreciated. I've built my own gaming rigs for years and never had an issue matching up ram to a board before.Seems to be a lot of DDR4 2666 out there ,just none I'm finding that match their list.

On the specifications page for the X99 WS it specifies that 256GB ecc reg ram is supported with xeon cpu. But in ram QVL there are on 16GB dimms mentioned. Does anyone know which specific 32GB dimms are supported. I sent a query to ASRock support but didn't receive a response.

Hello! The past few weeks have been a train of troubleshooting a motherboard I was gifted, I have yet to get it to post, to be clear this is the board I have:

https://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/X99%20Extreme4/

Its symptoms are a stuck on post led above Bios 1, no post beep codes, you can hear it only clicks somewhat when powered up with ram inserted in any slot, however, does beep 3 long with no ram at all. I thought the CPU was good based upon that, a 5820k.

When I got the board I was given a some adata chips that aren't quite on the QVL and thought those must be the problem since it beeps without ram installed, but I went and picked up some Corsair RGB vengeance ram today to the same symptom of stuck post led and no beeps, as I had gotten with the previous chips it came with in the first place.

I realize I likely have no serviceability through ASRock to repair it but wanted to know if there was anyone that could think of something I haven't yet.

I've triple checked the CPUs laid in socket well, cooler installed properly (Mugen scythe rev b for clearance of the ram sockets) and tried either new and old single dimm boot in every slot, getting me nowhere different each time.

PSU is a corsair rm1000i

Again, any help is appreciated, will give more info on my build if asked.

Intel Motherboards : Z390M Pro4 + Samsung nvme m2 + Supermicro SAS

Subject: Z390M Pro4 + Samsung nvme m2 + Supermicro SAS
Posted: 04 Jul 2020 at 12:20pm

I have a Z390M Pro4. My boot disk is Samsung 970 Pro nvme M2. I have a Supermicro AOC-S3008L-L8e, it's an 8 port SAS card.

I am running 8 SATA drives on the card, as JBOD. I am running the latest firmware for the SAS card, but it is 2018.

https://www.supermicro.com/en/products/accessories/addon/AOC-S3008L-L8e.php

Everything is working fine, the machine will boot into Win Server 2019. 8 SATA drives presented as single JBOD, no issues.

The problem is that I cannot see the Samsung M2 in BIOS. It is not listed in Advanced > Storage Configuration, but it is listed as bootable option.

I have to run RAID mode (not AHCI) for the SAS card. I have to run Compatibility Support Module or the machine will never boot.

This configuration, although bootable and running, means that Windows Storage Controller Drivers for the nvme m2, are not using the installed Samsung nvme drivers. Samsung Magician (drive diagnostic and tools) cannot recognize the nvme m2 drive either.

Any ideas on the proper BIOS configuration for my hardware?

It would appear, that just like posted in 'Z370 Extreme4 XMP bug', the voltages for some DDR4 RAM are set too high when using XMP.

My board is the Z390 Pro4 running BIOS 4.50. RAM is Corsair LPX CMK32GX4M2B3200C16 (listed in QLV for the Z390 Pro4). System was unstable in Windows 10 Pro 64bit.

Following Flode's advice on the Z370 board, I've changed vccio from 1.2v to 1.1V and vccsa from 1.25v to 1.15
