Dear RakeshNY and Kustode79,

Sorry for the late reply.

Please check the following link for the information which shows the BIOS version that will support the CPU that is being used.
https://www.asrock.com/nettop/Intel/DeskMini%20310%20Series/#CPU

Also, kindly check if the memory modules used on in the support list:
https://www.asrock.com/nettop/avl/DeskMini%20310%20Series.pdf

If the memory modules are not in the support list, kindly check with the RAM vendor to see if the RAM has been tested with H310 desk mini.

Also, try to reinstall the CPU and install only one RAM to see if the system will boot up.

With thanks,
ASRock TSD

Dear Cuby,

Thanks for posting your query to the ASRock forum.

The Realtek audio manager has combined into the Win10 since the previous Win10 update.
And it is now called Realtek audio console.

The following link will guide you to enable the surround sound on the system.

Can you confirm the cpu you used to test? Was it Intel Core i7-10700? This is important for me to know because I am considering switching to a competitor motherboard as I am growing impatient with time spend figuring this out.

Hi Asrock peeps,

I had forgotten about the CPU power supply which messed me up.
However, your Z390 board WAS bad.. Once I realized I had forgotten the CPU power, I did some more testing and found that an ASROCK 370 board I had also purchased was fine. The Z390 board was bad.
Anyway, I am sending the Z390 board back... and the Z370 board is in my nice big case running fine. When I boot sometimes the keyboard/mouse plugged in the back dont get power and the CPU lighting stays on, even when I turned the power off.

Very late reply, over three years later, but I found this thread when I recently decided to try to overlock my i5-6600K on an ASRock Z170 Pro4s and Windows 10. Similar issues: overclocking 4.4 GHz and above is unstable; various blue screens and software crashes. Have not been able to overvolt to stability, only solution has been to reduce clock.

I am surprised at the lack of response. I just want to limit my need to remove the motherboard component needlessly. Based on the no reply I will have to assume that this was not tested with a 10th gen cpu. Which is basically my issue. Would really appreciate a response.

I confirmed the jumper is in correct position. Plugged power supply and turned switch on. Left it like that for 2 hours. Attempted to power pc via front panel and via on board power button. Which failed.

Try the breadboard setup, that will rule out anything like shorting caused by
screws that may have fallen into the case or, stupid things like wasp nests etc.

Another option is to bridge the PSU power on pins (google how to turn on a
PSU without a board connected if you don't know how). Typically this is done
with the PSU disconnected from the motherboard but what you want to do is bridge
the pins from the back of the connector while it is connected to the board.

If that fails, there is the hail mary option. With the PSU plugged in to
power and turned on and the 24 pin power disconnected from your board, slowly
connect the 24 pin power at a slight angle so it only makes connection with
some of the pins. With any luck the PSU will come on then push it all the way
in.

Thank you for advice, upon removing MB from the case, i noticed a small button that sit underneath the DVI display port. A reset cmos botton , not a noticeable button from above as DVI port block it, but never the less and important button.

Seems like the process to clear cmos, not only includes battery removal and jumper position changes but as well as pressing this button. It is sad the manual does not include said task.

PC has booted up and i have access to the bios

Hey, i never realized that someone answered, thank you very much for you that! Unfortuantely the problem still persists.

As you said, it shouldnt have anyhting to do with the OS as already the POST and BIOS menu ist not displayed, long before any OS is loaded. What you tried to reproduce is pretty much my setup, so it should be accurate. Is there any other way we can debug this?

I assume you did this in UEFI-Mode/ with CSM off?

Really appreciate the help!

It's nice when it turns out to be something simple in the end

The button might have been stuck pressed in after moving around the case etc.
The button functions in the same way as the Clear CMOS jumper, if it is in a
shorted state the system will not power up.

Glad to see you are up and running again

Intel Motherboards : Cannot install Windows on M.2 ssd

Subject: Cannot install Windows on M.2 ssd
Posted: 26 Jun 2020 at 6:25pm

Hi all, my hard drive died on me so I took the chance to upgrade to an M.2 but am having trouble installing Windows 10. It's a PCIe M.2 card gen 3x4, and it does seem to be recognised in the BIOS, but when I try to install Windows I get the warning "Windows cannot be installed on this disk. This computer's hardware may not support booting to this disk. Ensure the disk's controller is enabled in the computer's BIOS menu."

My motherboard is a B365M pro4, bios version 4.20. Any ideas where I might be going wrong? Thanks

Some additional info -

This was when trying to install in Legacy mode, since when booting in UEFI I get all three of these in one go

"Windows cannot be installed to this disk. The selected disk has an MBR partition table. On EFI system, Windows can only be installed to GPT disks.

Windows cannot be installed to the hard disk space. Windows must be installed to a partition formatted in NTFS

Windows cannot be installed on to this hard disk space. The partition is of an unrecognized type"

Tried formatting to ntfs via cmd and it fails. Tried converting to gpt via cmd and nothing seems to change except now the disk reads as having 0MB free space?
