You may have to borrow a supported cpu from a friend OR buy a cheap supported cpu and flash the board then install the 9th gen cpu.
No guarantee the board will come with the 1.80 preloaded

Hi everyone,

I recently bought an ASRock Z370 Extreme4 paired with a Intel i7 8700k and a Gefore rtx 2080. So far I am quite Happy with the system.

So far the only do downgrade from by previous System - ASRock Z87 Pro3 - with Intel i7 - is the bios time when booting. In Windows 10 you can check it with Task-Manager - Tab Autostart.

With my ASRock Z87 Pro3 Bios Time was below 3 Seconds, now with my ASRock Z370 Extreme4 Bios Time is about 6 Seconds. I enalbed Ultra Fast Boot and tried to disable anything not important in the Bios but still can't get the Bios Time lower.

Is there any way to reduce the Bios Time?

ofc s going to work but to work properly required is compatible BIOS version what happens if i buy i5 9600k and install it on Asrock Z390 Extreme4 motherboard and new computer dont turn on but somebody in Asrock stuff forgot to update compatybile BIOS version in first relase ?

QLV list on official site say first relased BIOS version is 1.60 and Intel 9th CPU require BIOS version 1.80 im so confused and mad on Asrock

Is there something going on between these two components?

I thought i was the only one with the issue, but i see another user reporting the same sound and behaviour with the exact same PSU and motherboard.

https://www.reddit.com/r/intel/comments/9zrjv1/i9_9900k_asrock_taichi_z390/

I guess it's coil whine, because testing another PSU results in the exact same problem.

Same issue's on my TAICHI Z390 like the user is reporting, plus Mobo jackets are a dud too, at least on mine and his.

i have installed the samsung NMVE driver and cloned my windows 7 install from the ssd to the NVME using Macrium Reflect

i can use and navigate the nvme drive but for the life of me i can't boot from it.

can anyone give some tips on the bios setup so i can boot from it? the beta 3.00 bios has the nvme support but cant find anything nvme in it.

Hello,

New motherboard powers on, posts, shows logo and boot select menu then powers down and boots back to logo and boot menu then windows 10 boot manager takes it home to four, 500GB SSDs in RAID0. Question is, why boot twice? Issue with newer, lower CL RAM not on QVL? Issue with OC? Issue with SLI? Windows 10? Secure boot and CSM disabled, All UEFI. Nothing but Graphics in PCIe slots. Ram is in the right slots. All USB, Wifi and LAN ports enabled. Thunderbolt disabled. Fast boot disabled. hibernation in Windows disabled. Nothing in M.2 slots. No weird peripherals, Windows is stable. Posts twice every time.

Will post some shots of CMOS settings later.

Ignore sig, different setup.

This: Z390 Phantom9 Bios P1.3, 8700k(4.6Ghz generic OC, cache 4.4Ghz)
Newer G.Skill F4-4000C17-8GTZR x 2 XMP 4000 (No tweaks beyond XMP
because it won't run stable on this board. I could tweak the hell out
of this RAM on the AsRock Fatality Z370 pro gaming K-6, same CPU).
Zotac GTX 1070 ti x 2, AsRock HB SLI bridge. Evga 750 G2 PS. 4 500GB
Mushkin Source SSDs RAID0, Windows 10 pro Ver. 1803 Build 17134.407

I have a Samsung 970 EVO NVME

i installed the NVME driver and cloned the windows 7 operating system

i installed the 3.00 beta bios version but after hours of stuffing around not being able to find the drive i got the 2.90Q and it shows the 970 Evo

but when i select the 970 and go to boot it says ""Bootmgr is missing Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart"

is this because its a clone so the boot partition is MBR instead of a GPT?

or something else?

i have had this issue before and a system repair fixed it would that work for this?
anyone have any ideas?

Somehow the issue disappeared after some bios updates. Unfortunately, I don't have an useful answer :0
how is 9900k running on this mobo?

ok so after more stuffing around i got it to show
"reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key"

i don't know if its not cloning it as a boot partition? can i somehow set that?

i reckoned the drive and converted from MBR to GPT
unplugged every drive and still getting the error above.

also got a post screen showing this before the error above shows

"ASmedia 106x SATA Controler ver 0.93 AHCI Mode
S.M.A.R.T. Supported
Usig PCIE Gen2
Cant find any device"

I had the exact same with the ASRock Z390 Extreme4!!

The AMD drivers would completely freeze the computer when it started to detect the video card. Had to do a hard reset every time.

ASRock's Z390 chipset seems to have a LOT of problems. :(
