Hi,

I've bought a Fatal1ty Z370 Gaming-ITX/ac to use with a i5 9400F CPU.

The board does not boot, and after a while gives 5 beeps. After some searches I have found that the BIOS version is 1.10 and the support for the i5 9440F is only with version 3.30.

Is there a way to update the BIOS without a CPU or bypassing the boot problem?

Dear Keyser,

Thank you for posting your query to ASRock forum.

Kindly check with the store where the motherboard was purchased from to update the BIOS for you.

Also, kindly be noted that 9400F CPU does not have an integrated graphics card, a discrete graphics card is required.

With thanks,
ASRock TSD

Hi,

Thank you for your answer.

Since the motherboard has an integrated graphics card, is there really a need for another GCard for the CPU to function?

Can you kindly explain.

Regards

Has this been the case since first power up or was the system working correctly
previously?

If you have not already done so, clear CMOS and see if you still get the 10 code
with default (no XMP) settings.

Intel Motherboards : INF driver install not working

Hello to all!

I wanted to update my INF driver from 9.3.0.1011 to 9.3.0.1019.
I start the setup click on 'Continue', 'Yes' and 'Continue' again,
and... it tells me instantly that setup has finished and stuffs
has been installed. Of course nothing happened, and all I can do
is closing the application. Checked the drivers, everything is 1011 version...

It is pretty annoying cannot figure out what might be the problem.
Really want to try out if there is any difference with the 1019
version, since I'm having a problem with my webcam and read that
a motherboard update might help...

Thanks for any ideas and help in advance.

J

Dear Keyser,

Thanks for the reply.

The motherboard has integrated ports that will provide signals to the monitors.

The integrated ports such as HDMI gains the signals from the processor graphics.

If the processor does not have integrated graphics, onboard ports will not have functions.
Thus, a discrete graphics card is required.

If the extra graphics card is not preferred, kindly use the CPU such as i5-9400 that has integrated graphics on the system.

With thanks,

Dear Jimmy,

Thanks for posting your query to ASRock forum.

Regarding your question, kindly try to remove extra software that will monitor/sensor/control the system.

Those software might interfere with one another which may sometime lead to software not working properly.

Once the software has been uninstalled, please reinstall the f-stream utility and try.

If the problem persists, it is recommended to clean install the Win10.

With thanks,
ASRock TSD

I shorted the pins 2 and 3 (OC800 jumper). It worked well 3 times. The cpu fan stopped spinning after windows 10 shutdown. But now I am facing the same problem. The pu fan continues spinning after windows 10 shutdown. Why? Is a windows 10 problem or hardware problem? Thank in advance!

I always have the same question for Z390 Extreme4 ... I am using it for home nas type storage, it is not the best choice, but I wanted to know if I can connect an NVMe M.2 ssd without disabling any sata port on board.

The manual is unclear, it is not clear if the disabling is valid only using Mata Sata units or also with NVMe M.2

I have submitted a support ticket for this question, as I have yet to purchase an NVMe M.2 unit

Hello,

I recently started a build with an X299 Pro Gaming i9 board.

MB - Fatal1ty X299 Professional Gaming i9
CPU - Intel i9-9900x
RAM - Gskill DDR4-3200
GPU - Asus ROG Strix RTX2080 Super
Disk - 2 x Inland Pro 2TB NVME M.2

I was able to create a RAID 0 with the 2 NVME drives. I then booted a Windows 10 pro USB and it discovered the volume and installed Windows. Upon first reboot after the initial Windows install the computer hangs at the ASRock splash screen. The DR Diag code I get is A2. If I clear CMOS, then reboot and press F1 to continue, it gets past this. But I have to do this every time.

I also have received an A9 DR Diag code and I cannot find an explanation for that.

I upgraded the BIOS to 2.30 but am still seeing the same issue.

Hello ProHolmes,

If you already have the WiFi module, and you only need the cables and antennas try to take a look at this on Amazon.
Pay attention that the PCI-e cards of type M.2 (NGFF) use an antenna connector called MHF4 which is different from the one used on Mini PCI-e old cards which use the type MHF / MHF2.

Subject: Z390 phantom gaming ITX boot issues

hello the forum this is my first post so please forgive me if i make any mistakes

i just built a PC for my brother specs below

intel 8700k cpu
asrock Z390 phantom gaming itx
16gb corsair vengeance pro 300mhz (not OC)
silverstone tundra series 240 superslim AIO
fractal design ION SFX 650w gold PSU
EVGA geforce GTX 970 GPU
inwin A1 plus case

my issues are as follows
1) the system always takes 3~5 boot from a cold start to get up and running and for the life of me i cannot seem to get it to boot first time in order to give it to my brother without issues

2) replaced the fans on the AIO with noctua NF-A12x15 FLX 120mm fans and the system software and the bios refuse to allow me to decrease/increase the fans to set a custom fan curve they work but refuse to be tampered with no in fan-tastic tuning

can anyone here help me solve these issues the only thing i have done so far is clear C-mos to see if it was the bios i flashed but that has not changed anyhting with the issues

thanks a bunch and am eagerly anticipating replies...
