Hello!

Is there a way to activate the same highest turbo frequency for all cores in the Asrock Z77 Pro4 motherboard?

This function is available in Asrock Z77 Extreme4, If I'm not wrong.

For example, I've used this in a Asus Sabertooth Z77 in the past.

Does this function is present in the 2.00 beta bios, released in 2018?

Thank you!

My sound issue was fixed by updating the bios from P4.2 to P4.3.
Why that update fixed the problem I have no idea.
Maybe the original bios loading from the manufacturer was glitched.

What do the PCIE1->4 mean?
They are set to Auto by default.
But how do we use them correct?
The manual is useless.

My brother in law had a media PC built at least 10 years ago. I think it was built on XP but had all the newer components including an i7 processor. It's since been upgraded to windows 7 and then windows 10. Both OS worked fine. Now he is asking me to upgrade the ram. So hopefully it's obvious the motherboard is an asrock x58. Originally the pc was built with 6gb of ram in 3 2gb sticks. I am trying to upgrade the ram to 16gb. I found a 16gb kit on amazon: DDR3 1600MHz PC3-12800 but it is not recognized by the computer and will not boot. I've tried putting the memory in different slots (there are 6) but but the pc doesn't boot. How can I find out if this memory is ok for this board? Or is the board just too old?

Have you cleared CMOS? Also bare in mind that 8gb single modules were all but
unheard of when the x58 chipset came out. Your best bet is to pick up 3 4gb
modules. You want 3 because x58 runs in triple channel mode so you need 3 RAM
modules to utilize the extra bandwidth over dual channel. I would also make sure
the new RAM is 1333, that will help ensure compatibility. Another option would be
to pick up 3 more 2gb modules.

No lights at all, and Device Manager lists it as "cannot start." I think it's dead.   :-(

Thank you sir. I was wondering about the 3 sticks of ram and wondered it that was needed. So you don't think this board can utilize 8gb sticks? I'll see if I can find 3 4gb sticks.

My Z97 Extreme 6 has the same problem with a 17-1 pin TPM 2.0 module installed and the latest BIOS v2.80 from 2018 flashed. Would you please add the BIOS fixes to the Support pages for these boards?

Hi,
I configured and built my computer with the following configuration about an year and a half back. It has been running fine till recently.

Motherboard: Z370 Extrme4
Memory: CORSAIR Vengeance LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 2666 (PC4 21300) Desktop Memory Model CMK16GX4M2A2666C16
_Intel Core i5-8600K Coffee Lake 6-Core 3.6 GHz (4.3 GHz Turbo) LGA 1151 (300 Series) 95W BX80684I58600K
Graphics: EVGA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB SSC GAMING ACX 3.0, 6GB GDDR5, LED, DX12 OSD Support (PXOC), 06G-P4-6267-KR
Powersupply: Seasonic FOCUS PX-650, 650W 80+ Platinum Full-Modular
Storage: 2 M.2 1TB drives Corsair
Case: Fractal Design Define R6 Gunmetal Brushed Aluminum/Steel ATX Silent Modular Tempered Glass Window Mid Tower

ALl of a sudden, it would not boot up after shutting down. I would have to unplug the power cable and wait for a few minutes before I could plug in and everything worked fine. Within days even this stopped working. Everytime, I shut it down, it would not boot. The motherboard indicates it is getting power, but does not power up. Nothing happens when I press the start button on the case. I tried several things:

1. Sometimes, it would boot after disconnecting the power cable for a while and reconnecting it. This stopped working in the last two days.
2. I tried clearing CMOS after unplugging the cable. Worked a couple times, but if I shut it down, it would not work again.
3. I removed the video card and tried after keeping it unplugged for a while, no luck
4. When I got it up and running, I put the computer to sleep mode. When I woke up the computer, it showed it is powering up, but lost video on later and GPU. Had to shut it down but unplugging the power cable.
5. I unplugged the power cable, put the CMOS jumper on, removed the battery for an hour and put everything back, after removing the jumper. After a couple tries the machine booted up. I shut it down, and same issue again. It would not boot up.
6. I have tried the usual remedies - pull the memory cards out and re-plug them back in. Make sure that they are properly in place. I even tried booting up with a single memory card, but the damn thing wont even post.
7. When the machine was up and running, I updated the bios to the latest available 4.20. I have updated all the drivers and OS updates to the latest available. Of course they would matter only if the motherboard posts and gets to the OS. At least I thought flashing the BIOS to fix the issue, but it didnt.

I am at my road's end of everything I can try. I have built all my computers from scratch over the last 25 years, but never seen anything like this. I am suspecting I might have to RMA the motherboard.

I would appreciate if anybody can give me suggestions to try that I haven't done so far. I have also sent a message to the technical support, hoping they can offer some help.

Dear Twaild,

Thank you for posting your query to ASRock forum.

Regarding your question, with 9100f CPU it is required to have discrete graphics card installed to the system in order to boot up.

If it still will not work, kindly contact your motherboard distributor to have the BIOS updated.

With thanks,
ASRock TSD

Dear forum users,

Thanks for posting the query.

Z97 motherboard mainly supports the TPM1.2 modules. 2.0 is not supported.

I highly doubt it, the latest BIOS could possibly help but 4gb was the largest
capacity available at the time these boards were current.

That is the official memory support list. I doubt it has been updated for quite
some time however.

This does not work for me. Suddenly all my LEDs are set to white and changing the settings in ASRGBLED does not change anything.

So, I'm sitting at my computer watching TV and suddenly ALL of my fans speed up to 100%. my top case fan starts making a violent rattling noise and I start looking trying to figure out what happened.

After troubleshooting, I found that F-Stream thought both the motherboard and the CPU were at 130C and spun all fans up to 100%.   I checked other sources and they all were showing my CPU temp at about 45*. I rebooted, and the computer came back up and temp showed right, but all fans were still at 100%. That's when I went into FAN-Tastic Tuning and saw all of my temperature graphs were messed up. Most of them had fans starting at 80% and going up to 100% around 20*-ish

I reset all of my temp graphs, but one fan only shows two temperature points. the graph goes up and out the corner, and I can't get more than two points to appear.   Does anyone know how to get the rest of the points to appear/generate so I can graph it out properly.

Here's what the primary CPU fan looks like:

and this is what the secondary CPU Fan looks like (same fan model)

Any help would be appreciated. Until now I've never had an issue with the tool

Hey there,

since I recently had to unplug my PC when I installed some wifi antennas, my RGB is behaving in a completely strange way.

When the PC is on, all LEDs including the LED stip are always bright white and cannot be changed with the ASRGB tool.
Full view

When in PC is shut down, the LED strip is off but all other LEDs on the MB are still set to white.
Full View

When the system is unplugged (no AC at all!) all MB LEDs are red and the debug display shows "00". Even if I wait for a long period of time. This probably drains the battery pretty quickly.

What can I do?
Thanks!
