Subject: HELP! z390 Taichi ultimate Boot issues

update:

1. I examined the CPU socket, since whenever I was inserting the GPU and plugging in the DP cable into it, the 00 code was appearing on the mobo immediately.
CPU Socket is flawless, and CPU is installed correctly. Left that case.

2. I was fiddling with the GPU as it seems to be guilty all of that mess.
When I insert GPU and attach the power into it, mobo is fine, pc can boot, everything works (monitors not plugged into gpu)
but if I shut the pc down and plug the DP cable into GPU, the code 00 pops up on the mobo and system won't boot. That thing does not happen, when I plug the HDMI cable into GPU. I can boot the system and use the gpu with the HDMI.

I went a bit further and took a look at the gpu. I see that the soldering next to DP ports seems a bit odd to me. Isn't it fried? I did have a problems with DP cables, as they were not contacting any my screens were making a strange electric sounds when I was moving the DP cables. Maybe they fried the GPU?
Tomorrow I will bring a spare gpu and plug it in using HDMI cables to look for a difference. Please take a look at the photos I attach, and tell me if the soldering looks ok? Or I'm just freaking out?

The problem now seems to be worse. Neither B1 or B2 seems to be working at all. A1 and A2 are fine still.

I tried one Dimm in each memory slot. Only with it in A1 and A2 would it post. I tried the other Dimm for the same result. In all 4 slots, I can both hear and feel a click when the Dimm seats, so I reckon I am using enough pressure.

I cleared CMOS and tried the test again for exactly the same result.

I then tried with no memory and get three long beeps, which is the correct error response.

If you have issues trying to obtain stability, you could attempt to not only change the voltages, but to actually go into the timings and alter those to be closer to the xmp profile the ram suggests.

To figure out what this is, you can download AIDA64 and look at your ram timings, then google what each number on the ram timing means. Then look for those settings on the Extreme4 UEFI and alter them.

Doing so made me realize just how incorrect the timings are from what they're supposed to be. Especially the Trfc.

Anyway, fixing that seems to have properly stabilized my ram and got rid of weird quirks my PC had waking up from sleep.

RAM G.Skill Trident Z 16GB DDR4
4133 C19 (2x8GB) K2 16GTZSWC - 1,35v
CPU 8700k - @ 4,8Ghz delided

FSB fixed to 100,00 Mhz - DDR4 - 4133 Mhz cl 19-19-19-38 -2N Timings
4800 Mhz all cores - 4400 Mhz Ring

0 geht
1 geht
2 geht
3 kein startup
4 kein startup
5 kein startup
6 kein startup
7 kein startup

was ist DLL Bandwidth und welcher Wert macht was? im Bios handbuch leider fehlanzeige hierfür eine Beschreibung zu finden :(

Vielen Dank für Eure Hilfe !!!

Intel Motherboards : Windows Server 2019 drivers for B360M Pro4

Subject: Windows Server 2019 drivers for B360M Pro4
Posted: 28 Dec 2018 at 12:30am

Greetings forum members,

hope you all enjoyed a peaceful christmas.

I need some advice on finding suitable network adapter drivers for an installation of Windows Server 2019 on an ASRock B360M Pro4 motherboard.

Most components in my system are detected allright and I can boot to a Windows Server desktop. However, none of the onboard network adapters (Intel I-219V Ethernet Controller, Intel AC 9560 WLAN Adapter with Bluetooth) is recognized by the Windows Server installation.
All attempts at manually installing drivers failed with either the driver complaining about there being no Intel(R) components present (Ethernet), or the driver installing but leaving unidentified component entries in Windows device manager (WLAN, BT).

The following driver versions were used in my installation attempts:
- LAN, WLAN, and BT-drivers from the driver CD accompanying the mainboard
- updated LAN-driver from the ASRock Web site (as of 12/23/2018)
- up-to-date drivers directly from https://downloadcenter.intel.com, specifically
- Intel Network Adapter Driver for Windows Server 2019 v23.5 of 12/06/2018(https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/28396/Intel-Network-Adapter-Driver-for-Windows-Server-2019-?product=36773)
- Intel PROSet Wireless Software and Drivers for Windows 10 v20.100.0 of 12/19/2018 (https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/28358/Intel-PROSet-Wireless-Software-and-Drivers-for-Windows-10?product=59485)
- Intel Wireless Bluetooth for Windows 10 v20.90.1 of 11/13/2018 (https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/28267/Intel-Wireless-Bluetooth-for-Windows-10?product=59485)

Yes, I do have the CNVi companion module installed in the correct M.2 slot and I did use only the x64 driver variants if available.

Windows 10 1809 installs without a glitch on my system - including the network adaters - so I can mostly rule out a hardware defect.

So has anybody successfully installed drivers on an ASRock board for these or similar onboard Intel network adapters under a recent Windows Server OS (2019 or 2016)?

TIA,
JOEH

I have an Asrock J3455-Itx board and love it. The only problem is I can not seem to make the board auto power on on only Monday through Friday. The only options I can see are everyday or 1 specific numerical day of the month. Is there some way to select more than one date? I have tried holding shift, control, alt., and the windows key and still can not select more than one. Thank You

Dear Prbrucre,

Thank you for choosing ASRock.

Regarding your case, we provide some suggestions to try:
1.     Clear CMOS to load BIOS default.
Please remove the power cord, and follow the user manual p21 to clear CMOS.
http://asrock.pc.cdn.bitgravity.com/Manual/Z390%20Taichi%20Ultimate.pdf
2.     Only install CPU and one stick memory to check if the system can boot into BIOS properly.
3.     Please try to install one stick memory at A1, B1, A2 and B2 slot to check if the system can boot into BIOS properly.
4.     Reinstall CPU and check if CPU socket pin is fine.
5.     If it is possible, please change another CPU or DRAM to check if the system can boot into BIOS properly.

Thank you!
Yours truly,
ASRock TSD

I ran the live update tool from app shop on the disc with the z390 taichi to download latest drivers. It got to the intel lan driver and did the required restart and thw system locks up now every time i reboot when it goes to continue the lan install. Im ticked off to say the least. Even if I try being quick to close the window when it loads up it doesnt work. No clue what to do now to interrupt thus install.

I was at least able to uninstall the app store program. But that doesn't solve the issue that this driver is going to likely lock the system up again if I try reinstalling it

Well, after a week of trouble shooting, over $100 in gas, expenses, and return fees, I'm going to say something is wrong with the Z390 Taichi board or the specific combination of it and my hardware.

I gave up after 3 boards and picked up an MSI Z390 ACE and swapped it with the Amazon Taichi (board #3), and had absolutely no issues. Booted straight into my OS drive, cranked my volume to 100%, moved my mouse around - nothing, not a peep.

I set the power option to high performance, and moved the mouse, the faintest hum came through my speakers. At 100% with no other noise in the room, I could hear a slight hum. That is a win. Also didn't realize that the board turned on MCE by default so high performance profile had all 8 cores at 4.7ghz.

Called it a win, through the Taichi back into it's box, did a return request to Amazon, and packed it away to drop off tomorrow at UPS.

Good luck to anyone who is planing on using the onboard audio. I have a Sound Blaster Z from my previous build that I wanted to retire do to constant issues with old drivers and Win10 updates. I picked the Taichi on the strong audio reviews it go, but I wonder if those were due solely for the Ultimate, while the cheaper model might have had some skipping somewhere else.
