Thank you for your prompt reply.

Do you know if additional models will be added in future? The X299 is listed as compatible, and has the same number of PCI Express lanes available as what my Z390 does.

Is it just a matter of ASROCK testing and approving?

I thank you once again for your help.

Andrew.

Samsung 970 m.2 1TB
intel i7-10700k Comet Lake LGA 12008- core 3.8Ghz
Corsiar Vengeance LPX 32GB DDR4 288 pin 3600
EVGA RTX 2080 super
ASROCK z490 Phanrom Gamning 4/2.5G

Installed the above gear, Put my old SSD in with windows 10. Everything worked fine, used the rig all day. Next day I did a fresh install of Windows 10 on the M.2 and now there's devices that will not work. One of them being the Ethernet adapter. I used a USB to get the latest drivers, but no luck. The BIOS though, will connect to the internet and i updated the BIOS to the latest version. Still cant get the drivers/devices to work.

After a few days of testing I can report that the NIC reset problem still happens with v10039 but I have it narrowed it down to when the connection is very busy (such when using torrent software).

It seems like the more connections are open the higher the chances are that the RTL8125 resets. It is especially noticeable when you also throw in a real time communications service such a Zoom, Skype, Meet or Teams because when the RTL8125 resets everyone sees you freeze and all comms are interrupted for a good 10 seconds but the call is not dropped.

If you're playing a game, have a browser open and on Discord (no torrents) it still happens but less frequently - once every 20-30 mins maybe, however, when it happens it is a disaster because you get dropped from the game. Discord may keep you connected but you cannot hear or say anything until the RTL8125 completes it's reset cycle.

If you are just browsing the internet and maybe have a few tabs open one of which is Youtube it's fine. You can even have Youtube and Spotify running and it does not reset.

I'm current now testing v10042 which is from the RealTek site.

Hello everyone,

I just got the Z270 Gaming K6 motherboard to replace an Asus Code IX that died, overall I'm pretty satisfied with the motherboard but I have this weird problem that occurs on cold boot after the PC has been off for a considerable amount of time (overnight while I sleep). When I turn on the PC the system starts posting but hangs for a minute or so with code 99 and eventually it boots normally, no need to restart or power off, after that if I shut it down and turn it on, it boots with no problems and really fast (10-15 seconds to desktop). Any ideas what could be happening?

Specs
CPU: i7 7700K OC yo 5.1 GHz
Cooler: AIO Thermaltake Water 3.0
Motherboard: Fatal1ty Z270 Gaming K6
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 16GB 3000 MHz XMP Profile
GPU: 2x Nvidia GTX 1080Ti Founder's Edition
Drives: 6 SATA3 Drives (3 HDDs and 3 SSDs), 1 Samsung NVMe drive 512 GB.

Thanks,

I don't require an answer to this forum topic now as I've now ended up choosing to buy an MSI motherboard instead.

Dear Warshadow,

Thanks for posting your query to the ASRock forum.

Regarding your question, when one module is used, please install to the B2 or A2 slot.

If two modules are used, kindly use A2B2 slots.

Dear Joe,

Thanks for posting!
Sorry for the late reply.

Yes, the H310CM-HDV supports the TPM module.

The module can be installed on the pg.7 #13 header.

Dear Ubertosjaya,

Thanks for posting your query to the ASRock forum.

We have checked with RX580 card + 10400F CPU, however, it can post properly.
The BIOS version we used on B460M-ITX/ac would be BIOS P1.10.

Kindly tried with a different port of the RX580 graphics card.

If the problem persists, kindly use the RX480 graphics card to boot the system and adjust the following settings:
-BIOS\Boot\CSM\Enabled >F10 to save the settings > Remove RX480 and install the RX580.

-BIOS\Boot\CSM\Enabled >Boot\CSM\Other PCI devices ROM Priority\Legacy only > F10 to save the settings > Remove RX480 and install the RX580.

With thanks,

My RAM (2x8 Gb KIT) is support dual channel.

Thank you for looking into this and trying to replicate.

I actually have a RTX 2080 ti Fe but I think I found something.

In the bios in the fan management area there is something called a VR Fan 1 that was set to silent/off.

There seems to be two fans on the MB, one in the IO block and one in the MOSFET area... are they both VR Fan 1 ? Which is the VR Fan?

I've set it to normal mode and and see it going about 2-3k RPM.

You see them in my build log here:
https://photos.app.goo.gl/jVupcEUP9vTUCAMa6

I will keep you posted if this reset continues after this.

As for temps I'm not seeing anything thats unusual on the MB (to be honest I didn't look at the VR stuff before. Here are the current temps after playign Division 2 for an hour with Discord for chat, chrome and youtube playing...

The dual AIO radiator is great and the RTX 2080 and CPU are undervolted about -100mV each saving 5 degrees...

I'll post again in a few days with the results. I hope the VR fan is the thing I think it is... where does the RealTek chip sit on the motherboard? My pictures are not clear enough and as you can see in the build log it's pretty tight now. If it was exposed I could try to put a small heatsink on it...

Have a good weekend.
