I recently purchased the Asrock Taichi motherboard. There is a small two digit display on the board that randomly shows different letters and/or numbers. I have no idea what they mean, and I'm unable too find any information or explanation about it. I need some direction as too where I can find a resolve. Thanks for any help.

I want to know why they say this motheboard supports 7.1 CH HD Audio since the white jack port for side speakers is missing, maybe it's only supported with digital audio and headphones?
Although DTS SPDIF Digital is not working (I downloaded the Realtek driver).

I am a active quadriplegic. I have always built my own computers. Time for an update and I bought the pro7 z170 because I had a new 7700k CPU lying around. I assembled everything and I could get no beeps- no screen even though it powered up and everything was spinning. I have never used and on board CPU graphics. Is there anything special you have to do before booting the computer. I do know that the BIOS must be changed but first I need to get there.

It was getting code 00 so I receded the CPU. No luck. Took everything out but the bare minimum and still no screen or beeps. I rma it and got a new one. I have the new one. It 2 will power up but gives me code 66. Did the same thing by getting it down to the bare minimum and it still would not post. I have checked everything twice. The second motherboard I decided to test it outside the case.

I have the CPU, 1 GB ram stick and the power supply. Do you have to do anything special when using internal graphics? I am using a Corsair 850 power supply that came out of my old PC. I've tried everything I know with no luck. I am also aware that the odds of two motherboards doing sort of the same thing is probably not possible. I have tried all the simple things to no avail. Any ideas?
Thanks

Z170 Pro 7 ? Asrock makes a Z170 Pro4. The debug code for 66 means you need to reset the CMOS and may be using incompatible RAM. What make and model RAM are you using ?

Check this: https://www.asrock.com/support/faq.asp?id=334
The code shown is the last item the BIOS has checked and can be somewhat random on a working motherboard. If there is an issue and the board cannot complete it's boot up then the code will usually be the same every time you try to boot it up. Hope that helps.

For Analog you need to enable 7.1 in the Realtek audio control panel and have the Front Panel Audio connected on the motherboard to your case front audio or some other set of jacks. Once enabled in the control panel the front audio out becomes the side channels and not stereo L+R. The back panel Blue = Rears, Green = Front, Pink = Center and subwoofer. The only Mic jack with 7.1 enabled is thru the front panel header. Hope that helps..

Dear Czander475,

Thank you for choosing ASRock.

Z170 needs to update BIOS to support 7th generation CPU.
CUP Support list:
https://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/Z170%20Pro4/index.asp#CPU
The BIOS ROM chip has a sticker with the BIOS version.
Please check your BIOS version that can support the i7-7700k or not.

Thank you!
Yours truly,
ASRock TSD

Are you using the back panel "black" colored USB for the wired keyboard ? If you can get into the bios you should be able to Tab around and hit Enter on items, the arrow keys also work to change/scroll thru certain items. Page 57 of the manual (downloaded pdf) describes what keys do what.
Wireless mice rarely work in a BIOS because no dongle driver support...

Subject: Usb 3 problems on Asrock P55 Pro/USB3
Posted: 02 Jul 2019 at 4:34pm

I still use P55 Pro/USB3...

By Win10, the Fresco Logic Usb3 driver seems to have problems (slow down, short freeze,..).
Then, I use standard default win10 drivers, but they dont use the speed of 3.0 port.
(I found are no new driver, nor from Fresco, nor from asrock: I know, it's a bit old MB)

Question:
1) Any idea about how to use usb3? New drivers, ...
2) any suggestion about which additional USB 3.1 board to buy and insert onto the P55 ? (I will disable the MB usb3 port)

I appreciate any suggestion!
Thank you!

DTS SPDIF Digital is not working, can you help me?
For Home Theater, is it possible to connect HDMI to the motherboard or it must be connected to the GPU? The setting "Onboard HDMI HD Audio" is missing with 4.10

Hi (and hello from google translator)
There is a problem:
When the "Fast Boot" function is enabled, when the PC bios reboots, it emits 5 short beeps, and turns on after a while (long enough)
The same thing happens when you turn off CSM compatibility.

Hello all,

Are the NVMe M2's compatible with my Z77 board and also would I need any adapters (or anything else) to connect it?

My PC Specs:
AsRock Z77 Overclock Formula
I7 3770k @ 4.5GHz
16GB RAM G.Skill Ripjaws X
Win 10 Pro x 64

Seeing how cheap SSD's are, I was looking to get this EVO:

Guys,

Problem:

I wanted to install a new graphical card, the old was too old for Mojave (Yes, Hackintosh)
so I got a MSI RX580 Armor.
Bios version was too old for this to talk to each other, so update the bios was the advice from asrock. probably sound advice, ads the MB and graphical card are compatible according to several internet sites.

so i flashed the bios, went successful, but now I have no graphical output. everything runs and turns, but I get no visuals. installed the old HD6870 again, no out put either.

what to do??

Subject: Extreme4 Z390: 5 beeps when no screen is attached
Posted: 04 Jul 2019 at 4:04am

Hi,

few weeks ago I assembled brand new PC using new, shiny AsRock Extreme4 Z390, Intel i7-9700K CPU, 2 x 16GB Kingston HyperX Predator DDR4 (KHX2666C13), SSD Samsung Evo 960 500GB, PSU Thermaltake SmartSE 530W. No discrete graphics card - this is PC for work.

From time to time my PC won't boot. Instead it displays nothing and gives 5 short beeps. I know it points out to issue with CPU, but IMHO this is not true. I'm more than 100% sure, that this is related to graphics, but I'm not sure to which part - CPU's GPU or circuits on mother board?. I noticed, that if I disconnect HDMI cable or power off the display I will with probability of 99% get 5 beeps. As I said this PC is for work, especially remote work, therefore I planned to detach screen at all. Now I can't.

Please advice, which steps shall I take to locate and eliminate the source of my problems.

Regards
Maciej

Okay I think there is a missunderstanding.
My problem is that I had the same hardware with a Win10 running on it but I want to reinstall a new clean version of Win10 as I don't have the admin access anymore. The problem is that this problem pops up. In order to solve this I need to remove the key/password for windows that has been saved on my motherboard.

I think I did. I gave up and am at the beach for a month! The tab didn't work either. I'll buy a wired mouse before I get back home to the problem. I'm about to upgrade my system and do not want to do anything till I can get to thisbios screen.
Thanks

I am in the middle of a similar issue. I downloaded asrock app to "boot to uefi"
which did work, .... but i could not navigae using either the mouse or the keyboard.
I bought a wired keyboard, which did not help.
I just bought a wired mouse and I will try that. I went on vacation and left my problems behind. When I return I will continue. If that does not work I will switch to the "b" bios.
