Also im so confused i got my computer to turn on 2x out of like 1000. How is that possible lol. The only thing i can think of is the cord is bad considering i had to hit my computer a couple times to get it to start so something was wrong from the start. How do i go about buying a new cord? i found an extra one but its different than what i need and i havn't found any similar to mine online. I was thinking of just buying a new case because mines to small but id rather not spend to much money if possible.

Sounds like the switch itself is bad, or the wires to the switch were not making a good connection. If there is no electrical connection between the power switch and the connection on the board, you can press the button forever and nothing will happen. If you had to hit the PC to get it to start (hitting anything in a PC is a ridiculous thing to do) obviously there is a problem with the connection.

This is what Xaltar explained to you about starting the PC.

Remove the two wires/connectors for the power switch, from their connections on the mother board.

Use a small screwdriver to momentarily short those two pins on the board together.

That's all you are supposed to do, nothing is done with the switch after you remove its wires from the board.

The PC should start when you short the two pins with the screwdriver. If it does, you then know the power switch and/or wiring is bad.

Depending upon your PC case, you may be able to just get the power switch/wires as one unit. Or the switch may be part of a group of buttons and connectors (USB, headphones, etc) that are one unit, which is what you would replace.
