I'm glad you have the board fixed!
I wonder if you had a corrupted UEFI/BIOS for some reason. I've never seen a single character Dr Debug code, they should all be two hexadecimal digits.
You might have been able to fix your problem with a simple UEFI/BIOS clear, but updating it does tha similar thing, plus give you some improvements.
