Hibernation mode is meant to work even if the PC loses power, so unplugging the PSU will not cause Hibernation mode to not be used or work.
Why is the PC going into Hibernation mode? Are you selecting that instead of Shutdown? If Windows is configured to automatically go into Hibernation mode after a period of inactivity, then you need to change that if you don't want the PC to hibernate.
Are you selecting Windows Shutdown, but the PC goes into Hibernation mode?
Did you install Windows on the PC, or are you using an existing Windows installation that came with the PC when you bought it?
It sounds like the Intel Rapid Start feature is in use on that PC.

![]() P67 Extreme4 always says it is coming out of hibernation mode even if the computer is unplugged for days. I can't find any bios update on a 3 year old board, purchased used. It is not over clocked. The machine is pretty basic, no fancy video card, I5 processor, 16 G of memory, bluray burner, card reader, 1 TB hard drive. Everything else works fine. Is there a bios upgrade? |
