Normally, a shake of the mouse or pressing a key will turn the screen on and the PC becomes useable.

Several times over the last few weeks, after the screen shuts off, nothing will get the screens on again. (I have two Dell Ultrasharps).

No USB ports have power. The illuminated keyboard is still lit but unresponsive. When its USB is unplugged and replugged, the keyboard is no longer lit and still unresponsive. I have swapped the screen ports around - no difference. Opening the CD drawer still works but does not reactivate the PC. A CD will spin up but not reactivate the screens or USB ports.

The only way to rectify is to press and hold the power button on the PC.

The motherboard is 5 years old and is kept clean. No other issues are detected.

I've never heard of this issue in the past.

This happens intermittently? All of the symptoms (no USB port power) always occur?

Video card, or the integrated graphics?

Do you know if the monitors entered their power saving mode, displaying a message that no signal is being received? I know that may be difficult to be noticed.

Did you check the Windows Event Viewer for any clues?

I wonder if Win 10 update installed a new video source driver. But that should not account for the USB port problem.

Strange issue, the board may have a problem, or possibly the PSU.
