I followed that thread.

Problem with a rev. change is the fact that old vs new is most likely, 99.99% sure, there are different DRAM modules used. And with that comes different binned chips used that may or may not represent differing voltages and or timings. And by timings I'm talking the deep secondary and lower timings.

The sticks should run on their XMP Profile 2, 2666, settings after making the necessary voltage changes to VCCSA and VCCIO as parsec intones. But 3000 w/o some serious cooling and tweaking? Again, good luck there on the X99 boards.

And honestly, have you looked at memory scaling on the X99 platform? I have not but I'm guessing since most mem manufacturers top out certifying sticks at 2666 for X99 that either the platform becomes unstable, or the scaling above 2666 flatlines on the platform

Give the advice a try.
