Correct, it showed in neither the system browser or under the advanced settings. Since it did boot to it again the one time after being "absent" I suspect as you said that the SSD is not faulty. I have a card on order to allow me to mount it in a regular PCI slot on another machine to verify this. I did try a second, known-good PSU when the unit was failing to power-up. It also did not power the system.

Once I figured out the trick of turning off the original PSU and waiting for discharge, then powering it on that seems to work consistently thus far. I was able to add the blank SSD via a SATA cable, install Win10 and it boots and runs fine from that drive.
Thanks for your helpful suggestions, once I can verify the 950PRO state so I know whether or not to proceed with an RMA, I will strip the board of anything not needed and even try another known-good power button to further isolate the issue. I am and have been using a video card.
