First of all, thanks for reading this. I just bought myself an entire new build yesterday and ran into some issues. (specifications below)
The motherboard does not seem to give a POST or any video signal, my screen remains black. I've tried without a gfx card, falling back to on board Intel graphics, but that didn't work either. I've changed the RAM from the preferred positions (A1 and B1) to the secondary position, all to no avail. Then I've tried to use only one memory stick, but that didn't have any results either.
I've tried to install an onboard speaker to listen for the beeps when booting, but I haven't heard any either. Not sure if I wrongly placed the speaker, but I installed it in the Power LED and Speaker Header (SPK_PLED1). This questions whether the motherboard actually works.
(EDIT: When I place no RAM memory in the slots at all, I get 3 short beeps in a continuous loop, so the speaker works.)
I've disassembled the CPU cooler and processor, looking for hardware issues with the CPU socket, but I haven't found any broken connectors/pins or anything remarkably broken.
I've also checked the 24pin connector whether it was plugged in completely, also checked the extra 8 pin connector at the top of the mobo.
Everytime I changed memory configurations, I also cleared the CMOS by moving the jumper from pin1+2 to pin2+3. When reset completed, I changed it back of course.
The only thing I can now think of is that something is not supported or malfunctions/is broken. I suspect my RAM could be not supported, but I do not want to buy another set of sticks when the problem is something else entirely. The mobo requires SDRAM-DDR4 and the sticks I have apply to this requirement. Also the speed of those sticks are compatible with the requirements, but I can't find it in the memory list of the product page. The only thing I could think of would the an incorrect memory bus speed of my RAM, but I can't find any specifications on required RAM bus speed for this mobo.
My build specifications:
Motherboard: ASRock Z170 Pro4S
CPU: Intel i5-6600K
GFX Card: MSI AMD R9 390X 8GB
RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 2x8GB 2133Mhz (Modelnr: CMK16GX4M2A2133C13)
PSU: Corsair CX600M
CPU Cooler: Scythe Mugen 4 PCGH
SSD: Crucial MX200 250GB
HD: Seagate HDD Desktop 2TB 7200rpm
Any help would be greatly appreciated, I'm a bit desperate at the moment!
